Centre for Comic Studies

The Centre for Comics Studies (CSK), which operates at the department, was established in 2013 based on an agreement between the Institute of Czech Literature of the Czech Scientific Academy, and the Faculty of Arts of Palacký University in Olomouc with the aim of jointly developing contemporary comics studies, ie developing and cultivating Czech professional thinking about comics and becoming a shared communication platform for the exchange of information, materials and knowledge across both institutions and individual researchers. CSK intends to develop joint research and publishing activities in the field of comic book theory and the history of Czechoslovak comics.

CSK members publish partial studies in professional journals or book outputs from conferences, etc., in addition to working together on larger publication projects. A list of previous publications and more information can be found on the Centre's website.
